Once you enter The Horse’s Axe you will check-in, fill out a safety waiver, and watch our Safety Video. Then our axe coach will provide instructions on the proper throwing technique and how to use our projected target system. Your group will have your purchased time to play through our different games and have an axellent time. Once your time has ended we will take your group to our photo-op area for a group photo! Axe throwing is a lot of fun & we hope you will have a great time.

Yes! We highly recommend making a reservation in advance either through our website or call. We do accept walk-ins but activities are subject to availability.

Nope, but you can bring back your Horse’s Axe! Most of our guests take home an Axe (aka The Horse’s Axe). We have a variety of Axes at different prices.  The Bronco is only $30 in store or discounted when you book online in advance.  Once it’s yours you can name it, you can decorate it (handle engravings available,) and you can even put a diaper on it (we also sell axe sheaths).

Return with your Horse’s Axe every time you visit to throw at a discount.

We are a bar!  We sell alcohol!  That being said, we do welcome all ages as long as a parent or guardian is included in the group.  For ages 7 and younger, we have a foam axe (aka a Pony Axe) they can throw. For ages 8-12, axe coaches will determine if a child is safely able to throw an axe.  .  If we determine it is not safe, we respectfully ask for the parents support in our decision.  If they cannot safely throw, they can throw a Pony Axe.  We love kids!   We want to keep them safe!  We are not baby sitters! We want the WHOLE family to have fun.   We can help with the fun, but it is up to the parents and guardians to keep an eye on their kiddos.  Under 18 cannot be left unattended anywhere in the venue.  Please comply with our age requirements.

Yes, our number one goal is safety. We require all axe throwers to fill out our axe throwing waiver, wear closed toe shoes, and watch our Safety Video. An axe throwing coach will provide instructions on the proper throwing technique.  Each axe lane is equipped for your safety with floor mats, enclosed targets, and floor-to-ceiling walls between each lane.

Wear whatever you want to wear as long as it includes CLOSED TOE SHOES! Our only requirement is closed toe shoes. If you forget, we do have shoes that you can rent! If you are looking to get The Horse’s Axe look we sell graphic shirts, flannel shirts, hats and more. You won’t want to leave without some Horse’s Axe swag!

Each of our axe lanes can score up to 6 people at a time.  Each location has a set number of lanes.  Larger groups can rent all lanes or rent the whole venue!  Check out our party and corporate packages at each location.

We strive to make The Horse’s Axe welcome to people of all abilities. We make sure our facility is fully ADA compliant with regards to access ramps, bathrooms, and axe lanes. Our coaches will work to make accommodations for individuals to the best of their ability. Axe throwing is an adaptable activity and is available for a wide range of people with different abilities.

The Horse’s Axe Club is a discounted throwing membership.  Buy one of our axes and you’re a member!  Return with your Horse’s Axe in the future to throw at a discount any day of the week!  Doesn’t everyone want to be a Horse’s Axe?

In Denison and Denton, one person returning with a Horse’s Axe in your party gets one lane discounted from $39 to $30.  If you want a second discounted lane, there must be at least 2 Horse’s Axes in your party.

In McKinney, One axe gets One discounted thrower.  For example, if you bring a group of 4 people, one person throws at a discount.  The other three people throw at regular pricing.  If your friends buy an axe, they can be a member of the club too!
